About two weeks ago, two fifth grade students, Evan J. (L) and Will B. (R) discovered an object on our front playground at MCES. Upon investigation and through conformation from the History Museum of Carteret County, the boys discovered a Civil War Era bullet. We plan to display this at MCES as Camp Glenn is part of our history. What an awesome find boys!

A festive, rainbow-colored table display filled with a variety of snacks and drinks, including fresh fruit, cookies, candy, chips, and beverages, all thoughtfully arranged as a cheerful treat for teachers.
Today, our 4th and 5th grade students had an exciting visit by the Southland Dairy Farmers Mobile Dairy Classroom! 🐄🥛 Students learned all about dairy cows, how milk is produced, and the many health benefits of dairy products. From start to finish, they were highly attentive, engaged, and eager to learn. A big thank you to Southland Dairy Farmers for bringing this interactive and educational experience to our school. We are so grateful for the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences! (Be sure to check out the photos below! 📸)

🎶 Join Us for the CCPS All-County Elementary Honors Chorus Concert! 🎶

The Carteret County Public Schools All-County Elementary Honors Chorus Concert will take place Friday, March 13 at 6:00 PM at East Carteret High School. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, and the concert is free and open to the public.

This year’s Honors Chorus is made up of 118 auditioned students representing every Carteret County elementary school. Throughout the day, these talented singers will rehearse together and grow as musicians while working with this year’s outstanding clinician, Jana Winders.

Mrs. Winders brings over 23 years of teaching experience in Wilson County and was named the 2013 NC Elementary Music Educator of the Year. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Maxine Swalin Award for Outstanding Music Educator and currently serves as President-Elect of the NC Music Educators Association Elementary Board. We are honored to have her lead our students for this special event!

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors who help make this day-clinic and concert possible:
• Andrew and Taylor Brothers of Morehead City
• NC Health Plans (nchealthplans.com)
• The Bradshaw Family of Morehead City

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of wonderful music and to celebrate the hard work and talent of our Carteret County students! 🎤✨
