Do you or someone you know have an upcoming 4th or 5th grade student? Spread the word and come see what MCES has to offer. We will have an Open House night for any new potential students (4th and 5th graders for 2026-2027) on May 14th from 4:30-5:30. This is a chance to visit our campus, see some of our activities and interact with staff. Pop in for Popsicles and see Morehead City Elementary School!

As we visit MCMS this week and you prepare for the transition to Morehead City Middle School, here is a wonderful opportunity to get involved.

The Carteret County Public Schools All-County Elementary Honors Chorus Concert will take place Friday, March 13 at 6:00 PM at East Carteret High School. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, and the concert is free and open to the public.
This year’s Honors Chorus is made up of 118 auditioned students representing every Carteret County elementary school. Throughout the day, these talented singers will rehearse together and grow as musicians while working with this year’s outstanding clinician, Jana Winders.
Mrs. Winders brings over 23 years of teaching experience in Wilson County and was named the 2013 NC Elementary Music Educator of the Year. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Maxine Swalin Award for Outstanding Music Educator and currently serves as President-Elect of the NC Music Educators Association Elementary Board. We are honored to have her lead our students for this special event!
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors who help make this day-clinic and concert possible:
• Andrew and Taylor Brothers of Morehead City
• NC Health Plans (nchealthplans.com)
• The Bradshaw Family of Morehead City
We hope you’ll join us for an evening of wonderful music and to celebrate the hard work and talent of our Carteret County students! 🎤✨
